Interest Convergence

Interest convergence, sometimes called "material determinism," stems from the desire of whites to advance financially or to feel better about ourselves psychologically. For instance, race can be exploited by upper-class whites who pay black laborers less than their white counterparts, who then benefit by feeling superior.
